Middle-Earth: Shadow of War is an adventure and role-playing game developed by Monolith Productions and published by Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment. It is the sequel to Middle-Earth: Shadow of Mordor and is set in J.R.R. Tolkien's fictional world of Middle-Earth, specifically in the time period between The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings.

The Middle-Earth: Shadow of War game received positive reviews for its improved gameplay mechanics, expanded world, and the depth of the Nemesis System. It was praised for its engaging combat, intricate enemy AI, and the sense of empowerment it provides to players.

A sequel

The plot of Middle-Earth: Shadow of War follows the story of Talion and Celebrimbor as they continue their quest for vengeance and liberation against the dark forces of Sauron. After the events of Middle-Earth: Shadow of Mordor, Talion, and Celebrimbor forge a new Ring of Power to challenge Sauron's dominance. However, their ring is soon stolen by Shelob, the spider-like creature who possesses great power and knowledge. 

Shelob promises to aid Talion in his fight against Sauron if he retrieves artifacts for her. Talion and Celebrimbor set out to recover the stolen ring, facing various enemies and forging alliances along the way. They traverse the vast regions of Mordor, encountering powerful Orc warlords, loyalists to Sauron, and the mysterious Nazgûl, who seek to corrupt Talion and claim the ring for themselves.

As they progress, Talion and Celebrimbor amass an army of Orcs, using the new Ring of Power to dominate and control them. There are tons of other storylines and missions that you can experience here, however, certain missions and activities in the game can become repetitive over time. This includes some of the fortress assaults, which may feel similar after multiple playthroughs.
